How we use AI at Codecision
Codecision helps organizations decide where AI should act, where human judgment is required, and who is accountable at each step. We hold our own work to that standard.
People stay accountable
Every deliverable, recommendation, and published word at Codecision is the responsibility of one of our co-founders. AI tools assist our work. A co-founder reviews, revises, and approves everything before it reaches a client or the public. No AI tool decides on a client’s behalf; that is the principle our practice is built on, and we apply it to ourselves first.
The tools we use
We currently use Large Language Models, including ChatGPT and Claude, to support research and document preparation (including writing) and general business operations. We use Claude, Canva and Lovable for assistance with design, visual assets, and website development. We will update this list as our tools change.
Where we draw the line
We do not use AI to determine a client’s governance decisions, risk thresholds, or accountability structures. We do not use AI to generate findings we present as our own professional judgment without review. And we do not represent AI-assisted work as exclusively human-produced. Client emails are always written and sent by one of the co-founders and/or another clearly identified human as our team grows.
Client information
We do not upload client documents or identifiable data to AI tools. We tell clients about our AI use before an engagement begins. If you prefer we not use AI tools on your engagement, let us know at the start of your engagement, and we will discuss changes to the project terms.
Accuracy
AI tools produce errors, and they often sound confident when they do. We verify facts, figures, and sources before sharing anything with a client or publishing anything publicly. We aim for 100 percent accuracy; we’re human and can make mistakes, too.
Our own governance
We apply the same governance framework to ourselves that we build for clients. Codecision has internal policies governing which AI tools we use, what information can enter them, and how outputs are reviewed before use. We review those policies every 90 days and when our tools or practices change. If you would like to know how AI contributed to a specific deliverable, ask us.
This website
AI tools helped design this site and collaborated closely with the co-founders to draft the content and/or optimize existing co-founder-authored writing. The co-founders reviewed and approved the entire website.
Privacy
We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA.
